Music promotion can be said to be the process of making an Artiste song to reach wider audience and also generate new fans from different angles in no time.
★HAUSA HIP HOP INDUSTRY ITSELF★
From the year 2015 Hausa hip hop became every artiste’s dream that one day that dream might turn to reality. It was 2015 that Hausa hip hop started to get general acceptability from one angle to another not only in Northern region but also southern region. Many upcoming artistes who today are being rated as the best in their streets also being rated as undisputed average artistes were all inspired by the rap legends who puts “Arewa” on the map. Artistes like ClassiQ Aka Arewa Mafia, Dj AB(YNS), Morell, Kheengz & B.O.C Mdaki are the ones that have been seen as role models since when Hausa hip hop start to have its place in the North. These 5 spectacular artistes made a name for their selves as they were endowed with the gift and talent. After their breakthrough some of the young upcoming artistes got impressed and inspired which made them to push harder than before in order to elevate and level up, while some succeeded and some gave it up. As time goes on, The Arewa region became full of upcoming artist from different states who do believe that they’ll surely make it since they have the mindset nothing knowing the obstacles and challenges they must face before achieving their objective. Some of them failed to understand the pattern they should focus on so as to reach the destination while some figured out and focus on it. Looking at the year when Hausa hip hop start to become generally accepted in the Northern region, the most commonly used means of music promotion (Blogs) were not that much like as of now. There were only fews blogs back then where you can get almost all these breakthrough 5 artistes’ new releases but as time goes on blogs begin to be developed by interested users.
★FACTS ABOUT NORTHERN NIGERIA UPCOMING ARTISTES★
1- Majority of the Northern Nigeria Upcoming Artistes don’t believe in paying for promotion despite knowing how good a blogger is.
2- After realizing their potential and talent, they fail to focus on the pattern that best suits them.
3- To look down at a blogger is not a big deal to a Northern Nigeria Upcoming Artiste, they never value a blogger (some of the Artistes)
4- They might make major moves as an optimist but once they start getting popular they would just stop making those moves
5- Pure hatred and jealousy continue to run through our Artistes veins
